- Elections Observers Kenlee Ray and Bill O'Field inside the Reeves Building at 14th and U Streets, NW at 8:32 AM. Behind them is a line of approximately 20 voters.
- New sign from the Board of Elections and Ethics outside Garrison Elementary School at 12th and S Streets, NW.

- Inside the polling place at Shiloh Baptist Church at 1510 9th St, NW. Problems with the touch screen voting machine are being experienced, as has been the case in 4 out of the 5 precincts we've visited.
- Shiloh Baptist Church at 1510 9th St, NW at 9:39 AM. The Board of Elections and Ethics new practice is to post the opening tape of the optical scan voting machine.
- A check-in clerk at Hendley Elementary School, Precinct 125, 600 Chesapeake St, SE at 10:15 AM.
- Andrew Green, age 15, with his mother, Helen Green at Hendley Elementary at 600 Chesapeake St, SE at 10:20 AM. Both Ms. Green and her son are election day workers; Andrew is a volunteer.
- Youth poll workers Tamiah Roberts, a senior at Cesar Chavez Public Charter Scool, and Andrew Green, a 10th grader at Highroad High School. Both have been at Hendley Elementary School at 600 Chesapeake St, SE from when the polls opened (7 AM) and will be here till the polls close (8 PM).
- Dolores Bryant, an educational aide at Hendley Elementary School, selling baked goods to raise money for the school.
- Polling place at W.B. Patterson Elementary School at 4399 South Capitol Terrace at 11:03 AM. As with the other polling places visited, there were problems with the touch voting machine. In this case, the touch voting machine was pulling up ballots from wards other than ward 8. Later the machine malfunctioned by not bringing up the candidate's name.
- New Image Community Baptist Church polling place at 1839 Alabama Ave, SE at 12:03 PM. The E-Poll Book labeller was experiencing problems, as has been the case at each of the polling places we've asked about it.
- Washington Senior Wellness Center at 3000 Alabama, SE at 12:40 PM. "The Blue Team" - supporters of Vince Gray, Phil Mendelson, and Kwame Brown - Jerome and Connie Brocks, Kanika Brookins and Brenda Featherstone.

- Sign outside East Washington Heights Baptist Church (which is NOT a polling place) at Alabama and Branch Avenues, SE at 1:02 PM
- Polling place at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church at 3601 Alabama Ave, SE at 1:20 PM. Things are running smoothly, with one major exception: a number of folks who should be on the ballot - like a woman who cast a regular ballot in the 2008 presidential election - now must re-register.

- At 8:30 PM at Columbia and Kalorama Roads, NW, the polling place at Good Will Baptist Church has closed and the signs come up (at least the Gray signs).

- 2:53 AM. It's over. Adrian Fenty, who won every precinct four years ago, suffered a devastating defeat tonight at the hands of D.C. Council Chairman Vincent Gray. Fenty's campaign headquarters at Georgia Ave and Peabody St is emptied out and swept clean.
